The Racing Bulls team has announced Isack Hadjar as their new main driver for the 2025 season, where he will pair up with Yuki Tsunoda. This confirmation completes next season's grid and marks a new chapter for the Franco-Algerian driver.
Hadjar will replace Liam Lawson, who has been promoted to the main Red Bull team, taking over from Sergio Pérez. This decision is part of Red Bull's talent development program.
Born in Paris in 2004, Isack Hadjar has shown steady progress in his career since his karting debut in 2015. His achievements include:
- 2019: Seventh in the French F4 Championship, with one win and two podiums.
- 2020: Third in the French F4 Championship, achieving three wins and eight podiums.
- 2021: Fifth in the Formula Regional European Championship, with two wins and five podiums; sixth in the Asian F3 Championship.
- 2022: Third in the Formula Regional Asian Championship and fourth in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with three wins.
- 2023: Competed in Formula 2 with Hitech Pulse-Eight, finishing 14th with one podium; debuted in F1 free practices with AlphaTauri and Red Bull.
- 2024: Runner-up in Formula 2 with Campos Racing, earning four wins and eight podiums; additional F1 tests with Red Bull.
"This is a dream come true. I've been working for this moment since my karting days. I'm ready to learn and give my best on track," said Hadjar, highlighting the importance of Tsunoda's experience as a mentor within the team.
Laurent Mekies, Racing Bulls team principal, pointed out Hadjar's development as a key factor for his promotion to Formula 1. "Isack has shown talent and maturity to compete at the highest level. We believe his inclusion will bring a fresh dynamic to the team."
Peter Bayer, CEO of Racing Bulls, emphasized the value of this promotion within Red Bull's junior program. "This move reaffirms our commitment to developing young talents and our mission to prepare the best drivers for the future."
