Alpine Endurance Team has unveiled the six drivers who will form its line-up for the 2025 World Endurance Championship season. The team retains most of the roster from its 2024 campaign, ensuring continuity with Charles Milesi, Paul-Loup Chatin, Ferdinand Habsburg, and Mick Schumacher. Joining them will be Jules Gounon, now promoted to a full-time role, and the experienced Frédéric Makowiecki, who will bring his extensive background to strengthen the squad.

A team committed to stability

Alpine Endurance Team has chosen to maintain most of its driver roster, emphasizing consistency for its second year with the Hypercar A424. The French team, which finished fourth in the 2024 Manufacturers’ Championship, is preparing to capitalize on the lessons learned during its inaugural campaign in the category. Charles Milesi remains a key figure for the team after a first season highlighted by three Hyperpole appearances and the first fastest race lap for the A424. At 23, Milesi is focused on establishing himself further in the top tier of endurance racing.

Paul-Loup Chatin, meanwhile, adds experience and consistency to the team. As a driver with titles in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and IMSA, Chatin played a significant role during Alpine’s return to the WEC. He remains optimistic about the team’s potential for 2025, building on a 2024 season filled with constant learning and progress.

Key reinforcements for 2025

One of the standout additions is Frédéric Makowiecki, a driver with extensive endurance racing experience. In 2024, Makowiecki competed in the World Endurance Championship with Porsche Penske Motorsport, piloting the Porsche 963 LMDh number 5 alongside Michael Christensen and Matt Campbell. He secured three podium finishes, including third place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Additionally, he raced in IMSA with Wright Motorsports, driving a Porsche 911 GT3 R in the GTD class. His recent experience positions him as a valuable asset for Alpine, contributing to the development of the A424. Makowiecki expressed pride in joining a French team competing in the World Endurance Championship and is determined to help Alpine fight for wins in key races on the calendar.

Jules Gounon will also play a critical role in the 2025 line-up. After serving as a reserve driver in 2024 and competing in several races as a substitute, Gounon has been promoted to a full-time position. The French driver has already proven to be an important asset to the team.

Habsburg and Schumacher return

Ferdinand Habsburg will continue with Alpine in 2025. Despite missing two races in 2024 due to injury, the Austrian showcased his potential with several strong performances. A 2021 Le Mans class winner, Habsburg is determined to keep contributing to the team’s growth, emphasizing the importance of building stronger connections between drivers, engineers, and mechanics for better results.

Mick Schumacher, who joined the team in 2024, will also remain for 2025. The German driver demonstrated his ability to adapt quickly to the championship’s demands, securing a podium finish at the 6 Hours of Fuji. Schumacher is eager to continue developing his skills in endurance racing and is committed to improving the team’s performance.

With this line-up, Alpine aims to establish itself as a contender in the Hypercar category. The team will build on the experience gained in 2024 while strengthening its structure with drivers of proven skill and expertise. The official unveiling of the cars will take place in early 2025, when the team will be ready to face a new season in the WEC.
