The World Endurance Championship will come to a close this weekend with the 8 Hours of Bahrain, where the season champions will be decided. From October 31st to November 2nd, the Bahrain International Circuit will host the competition where drivers and manufacturers will aim to secure their victory, with the titles still up for grabs in the Hypercar category.
The Final Challenge in the Desert
After a season filled with challenges across various circuits around the world, the WEC culminates at a track that tests both drivers and cars. The technical characteristics of the circuit, combined with its abrasive surface, will put tire management to the test, a factor that could prove crucial in determining the outcome of the race.
Porsche Penske Motorsport: Chasing the Title
With consistent performance throughout the season, Porsche Penske Motorsport stands as the favorite. The Porsche #6, driven by André Lotterer, Kévin Estre, and Laurens Vanthoor, has achieved several victories and holds a considerable lead. An eighth-place finish in Bahrain would be enough to secure the championship, although they acknowledge that any incident in these types of races can change the outcome.
The Manufacturers' Fight: Porsche, Toyota, and Ferrari
As for the manufacturers, the competition remains tight. Porsche leads with a 10-point advantage over Toyota, while Ferrari remains in contention, trailing by 17 points. Toyota has performed solidly in Bahrain and will look to improve on recent results. Ferrari, on the other hand, needs to win the race to stay in the title fight. The Ferrari AF Corse team relies on the experience of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen to achieve this.
Other Teams to Watch in Bahrain
Beyond the title fight, other teams will aim to close the season with positive results. Cadillac will look to confirm their strong performance in Fuji, with Sébastien Bourdais back behind the wheel. Alpine and BMW are competing for fourth place in the overall standings, following standout performances in Japan.
Weekend Activities
The weekend program kicks off with free practice on Thursday, October 31st. Qualifying will take place on Friday, November 1st, with the Hyperpole session being one of the most anticipated moments. The final race will be held on Sunday, November 2nd, at 14:00 local time, bringing an intense season to a close. On the following Monday, the traditional rookie test will take place, as usual.

I’ve had a passion for motorsport since my childhood. Even as a child, I used to often have a camera between my hands. Later, I professionalized in the audiovisual field and then the idea to mix these two passions for racing and photography came up. Now, I mainly cover WEC and endurance racing, but also local hillclimb events.
