The BWT Alpine F1 Team has announced the appointment of Oliver Oakes as its new team principal. Oakes will take on the role after the summer break, reporting directly to Renault Group CEO, Luca de Meo. This appointment makes Oakes the second youngest team principal in Formula 1 history.

Oakes' Career

At 36 years old, Oakes has an impressive track record in motorsport. In 2015, he founded Hitech Grand Prix, a team that has been a leader in single-seater racing on both the global and national stages. With solid experience as a driver and as the 2005 world karting champion, Oakes has created a winning culture at Hitech, achieving victories in every championship it competes in and helping to advance the careers of several prominent drivers.

Management Comments

Luca de Meo expressed his satisfaction with Oakes' arrival: "It is a pleasure to welcome him to the team. This appointment is a clear sign of our ambition for future success. We look forward to harnessing his energy and passion for racing."

Flavio Briatore also shared his enthusiasm: "We are delighted to have Oakes in our Formula 1 project. His track record of leadership and success in racing is impressive. We are confident that his contribution will be key to moving up the grid and winning races."

Statements from Oliver Oakes

Oakes expressed his gratitude for the opportunity: "I am very grateful to Luca de Meo and Flavio Briatore for this chance to lead the BWT Alpine F1 Team. The team has talented people and excellent resources, and I am confident that we can achieve great things together both this season and in the longer term. I look forward to starting after the summer break."
