The 2024 British Grand Prix at the historic Silverstone circuit started with British drivers in the top positions, promising excitement from the beginning. Pierre Gasly had to retire before the race started, while Sergio Pérez began from the pits. The British drivers held the top positions from the start. Max Verstappen overtook Lando Norris at the beginning, moving into third place behind George Russell and Lewis Hamilton. By lap 11, Russell was leading, followed by Hamilton, Verstappen, Norris, and Piastri. Carlos Sainz, Lance Stroll, Charles Leclerc, Nico Hulkenberg, and Fernando Alonso completed the top ten positions. Zhou Guanyu was the first to enter the pits on lap 13. On lap 15, Max Verstappen set the fastest lap and regained third place, although he dropped to fifth on lap 17. Hamilton took the lead on lap 18, followed by Norris who overtook Russell for second place on lap 19. Several drivers, including Pérez, Ocon, and Leclerc, pitted on lap 20 to switch to wet tires, while Piastri overtook both Mercedes, moving into second place. The wet tires turned out to be a poor choice for Leclerc and Pérez, making them slower than the rest. On lap 26, Max, Sainz, Stroll, Hulkenberg, and Ricciardo pitted. Leaders Norris, Hamilton, and Russell also pitted on lap 28. Piastri pitted on lap 29 and dropped to sixth place. Mercedes asked Russell to retire the car on lap 34. The dynamics changed again when Max, Hamilton, and Piastri pitted for dry tires on lap 39, and Norris and Sainz did the same on lap 40, with Hamilton inheriting the lead. On lap 48, Max overtook Norris for second place, and by lap 50, Hamilton had a three-second lead over Max. Sainz set the fastest lap on the final lap. Hamilton achieved a new victory at a single circuit, surpassing Schumacher's record. Additionally, this is his first win since Saudi Arabia in 2021.Final results of the 2024 British Grand Prix
