Las instalaciones de Imola fueron testigos del rugido de un nuevo titán en el mundo de las carreras, cuando Lamborghini Iron Lynx completó con éxito sus primeras vueltas en pista con el prototipo SC63. Este bólido está destinado a competir en el Campeonato Mundial de Resistencia de la FIA y el Campeonato de Autos Deportivos WeatherTech IMSA el próximo año. Todo esto, durante dos días de pruebas intensas en el trazado italiano.
Después de un breve pero alentador inicio en el circuito de Vallelunga a principios de este mes, las miradas y las esperanzas se centraron en Imola. Los ingenieros de Lamborghini Squadra Corse comenzaron a trabajar en la calibración de esta máquina LMDh, la cual se desarrolla en colaboración con el equipo de fábrica de Lamborghini, Iron Lynx, que competirá en el IMSA y el WEC.
Los conductores oficiales de fábrica, Mirko Bortolotti, Andrea Caldarelli y Daniil Kvyat, se subieron al volante durante estas pruebas, sumando un total de 1500 kilómetros. Su enfoque estuvo en diversos aspectos de desarrollo del SC63, en preparación para dos pruebas adicionales en Europa que se llevarán a cabo en Paul Ricard y Spa-Francorchamps a lo largo del resto de agosto.
Durante estos dos días, los tres pilotos trabajaron en una serie de ajustes, destacando especialmente en la calibración del motor. Este motor, el primero diseñado íntegramente por Lamborghini Squadra Corse, promete una potencia impresionante que podría marcar la diferencia en el circuito. Además, se realizaron ajustes en la caja de cambios Xtrac, estándar para todos los autos LMDh, pero personalizable para cumplir con las especificaciones de Lamborghini en cuanto a relaciones de marcha y deslizamiento del diferencial mecánico. El equipo también perfeccionó las calibraciones del limitador de velocidad y el control de tracción, al mismo tiempo que llevaron a cabo un seguimiento de datos sobre la migración de frenos, datos de enfriamiento y una exhaustiva prueba aerodinámica.
Este debut en Imola marca el inicio de una emocionante travesía para Lamborghini Iron Lynx y su SC63, con la promesa de muchas más emociones en las pruebas europeas que están por venir.
