The 2025 World Endurance Championship calendar has been revealed, confirming a total of eight rounds that will take teams through Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and the Middle East. The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari (Imola) has signed a four-year contract extension, ensuring its participation in the championship until 2028.
2025 Schedule:
Start in Qatar
The season will begin in Doha, Qatar, with the Lusail International Circuit hosting both the official Prologue (February 20-21) and the first race, the Qatar 1812km, scheduled for February 28. This event coincides with Qatar National Day.
Classic Circuits and New Opportunities
In April, the championship will move to Europe for the second round in Imola, Italy. Thanks to the support of Imola's mayor, Marco Panieri, the circuit has committed to infrastructure improvements, including the construction of new garages. This round will take place on April 20.
Next on the calendar is the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, with the race scheduled for May 10. This circuit has been a cornerstone in the WEC since its inception in 2012, serving as a preparation for the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will take place on June 14-15.
America and Asia on the Calendar
The championship will then cross the Atlantic to Brazil for the 6 Hours of São Paulo at the Interlagos circuit, scheduled for July 13. Subsequently, it will head to the United States for the sixth round at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, on September 7.
The penultimate event will be held at Fuji International Speedway in Japan on September 28, known for its iconic view of Mount Fuji.
Final in Bahrain
As is tradition, the season will culminate in Bahrain with an 8-hour race at the Sakhir International Circuit on November 8, followed by an awards ceremony to crown the 2025 world champions.
Expansion and Stability
According to FIA President Mohammed ben Sulayem, the championship has seen significant growth in terms of sporting level and popularity. This stable calendar will allow the championship to continue consolidating and expanding in the coming years.
FIA Endurance Commission President Richard Mille highlighted the importance of maintaining a balanced calendar that offers a mix of well-established circuits and presence in multiple regions worldwide. This is crucial for the fans and manufacturers involved in the championship.
Rules Extended Until 2029
The WEC and IMSA have extended the rules for the Hypercar and GTP classes until 2029. This extension provides stability and allows manufacturers to plan long-term, ensuring their vehicles do not become obsolete quickly.
