Isack Hadjar has been ruled out of the Dutch Grand Prix due to a wrist injury. To cover his absence at Zandvoort, Red Bull has turned to its own structure. Liam Lawson moves up to the senior team in his place, and Yuki Tsunoda returns to the grid with Racing Bulls, where he will partner Arvid Lindblad.

Lawson has already worn the Red Bull Racing colors in 2023 and again in 2025, which worked in his favor over any other option within the organization. Tsunoda has not contested a full Grand Prix weekend as a regular driver for nearly a year, as since losing his seat at Racing Bulls at the end of 2025, he has only worked as a reserve driver.

Hadjar arrived at Red Bull Racing for this season, taking exactly the seat that Tsunoda vacated midway through 2025. With the injury, Tsunoda returns to the place he lost, although now at Racing Bulls rather than the senior team.

Before the summer break, Verstappen led the Red Bull charge with 109 points and sixth place in the championship. Hadjar had 68 points and eighth place in his first full year with the senior team, along with three top-three finishes. Lawson, with Racing Bulls, had 43 and ninth place, ahead of Lindblad's 23, while Tsunoda arrived at Zandvoort with no points, as he had not raced as a regular driver this year.

The injury removes Hadjar from a season that was yielding better results than his eighth-place standing suggests, especially because Red Bull no longer has the advantage it enjoyed in previous years under the 2026 regulations. For Lawson, the weekend means driving the senior car again for the first time since 2025, and on the same circuit where he made his debut in 2023, when he replaced Daniel Ricciardo due to a wrist injury almost identical to the one now sidelining Hadjar.

The Dutch Grand Prix runs from August 21 to 23 at Zandvoort, and the lineup changes apply only for this race. What happens in the following races will depend on how Hadjar's wrist recovers.
