What to watch at Watkins Glen
GTP Jack Aitken (No. 31 Cadillac Whelen) has 1,760 points and leads the standings. Laurin Heinrich (No. 7 Porsche Penske) is second, 144 points behind. Heinrich was going to miss Watkins Glen due to the 24 Hours of Spa, but Porsche reorganised his programme and he will ultimately race at The Glen. He will share the Porsche 963 No. 5 of JDC-Miller MotorSports with Tijmen van der Helm and Kaylen Frederick. GTP has only three races left after Watkins Glen.
LMP2 This is the third race of the season for LMP2. There were only two in the first five months. The championship is tight: the No. 22 United Autosports (Goldburg/Di Resta/Lindh) leads the No. 04 CrowdStrike (Kurtz/Quinn/Sowery) by 3 points. Dane Cameron (No. 99 AO Racing), the defending champion, is looking to recover after a difficult start.
GTD Pro The top four teams are separated by 31 points. Tommy Milner and Nicky Catsburg (No. 4 Corvette) lead the championship. Neil Verhagen and Connor De Phillippi (No. 1 Paul Miller Racing) are 18 points behind. Paul Miller Racing is going for its third consecutive Endurance Cup title, but also wants the overall championship.
