The stewards of the Monaco Grand Prix handed Sergio Pérez a 10‑second penalty for being out of his starting grid slot on the second start, which took place after the red flag. The penalty dropped him from tenth to fifteenth place and took away from Cadillac the first point in its history in Formula 1.

Pérez had charged from the back after receiving a drive‑through in the early laps for lining up incorrectly on the original grid. On the second start procedure, a video review confirmed that the right‑front wheel of his car was outside the grid slot. The stewards applied the standard penalty and also gave him a reprimand for performing a practice start in an unauthorised place.

The direct beneficiary is Fernando Alonso, who moves up to tenth place and gives Aston Martin its first point of the season. With that move, Aston Martin overtakes Cadillac in the constructors' championship.
