Jack Aitken will take over the seat vacated by the retirement of Jenson Button in the Cadillac WEC program for 2026. Aitken, runner-up in the 2025 IMSA GTP season with 2720 points, will join Earl Bamber and Sébastien Bourdais in the #38 Cadillac V-Series.R for the JOTA team.

The move comes after Aitken closed the IMSA season with consecutive victories at Indianapolis and Road Atlanta, securing the championship's second place just behind the Campbell-Jaminet duo (2907 points). During 2025, he also set the fastest time ever recorded by a Hypercar at the Circuit de la Sarthe during the Le Mans Hyperpole session.

Aitken will simultaneously maintain his full program in the 2026 IMSA with Action Express Racing, where he will continue to share the #31 Cadillac V-Series.R with Bamber. This dual participation allows Cadillac Racing to develop the V-Series.R with constant feedback between its North American and global programs.

"I've never competed in WEC and I've never raced with JOTA, although we've been close on several occasions," Aitken explained. "It's exciting to be able to apply what I've learned in IMSA to help develop the program."

Aitken debuted in IMSA in 2023 with a victory at Sebring in only his second race, establishing a record of three wins and two pole positions in 22 appearances since then. His addition to the WEC program comes after he participated in the rookie test held in Bahrain last Sunday.

David Clark, director of JOTA Sport, highlighted the consistency and pure speed demonstrated by Aitken during 2025. "Six individual stars don't win endurance races, but six drivers working as one can," Clark stated, referring to the team chemistry needed for success in the Hypercar class. The lineup of the #12 Cadillac V-Series.R will remain unchanged with Alex Lynn, Norman Nato, and Will Stevens, the only trio that scored points in every 2025 WEC race. This crew achieved Cadillac's first victory in the series at Interlagos, also leading a historic 1-2 for Cadillac.

Cadillac finished fourth in the 2025 WEC Manufacturers' Championship during its first season partnered with JOTA. Aitken's experience developing the V-Series.R in race conditions over two IMSA seasons brings valuable technical knowledge to the global program.
