Ferrari has officially confirmed the extension of its Hypercar program in the FIA World Endurance Championship until the end of 2029, consolidating a project that has exceeded all expectations with three world titles in 2025 and three consecutive wins at Le Mans.

The decision comes after Ferrari closed 2025 with three world championships: Manufacturers, Drivers, and World Cup. Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi of the #51 Ferrari were crowned drivers' champions at the 8 Hours of Bahrain, and Ferrari finished the Manufacturers' championship with 245 points, 74 ahead of Toyota.

Leverages Full Regulatory Cycle Until 2029

The FIA and ACO extended the current Hypercar homologation cycle until the end of 2029, allowing Ferrari to fully maximize the development invested in the 499P. This timing avoids the costs of redesigning a completely new prototype before the next regulatory change.

In three seasons, the 499P has achieved three consecutive victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2023, 2024, 2025), establishing itself as a competitive platform against Toyota and Porsche. Ferrari built its 2025 advantage with four wins in the first five races: Qatar, Spa-Francorchamps, Le Mans, and Imola.

Ford vs Ferrari Rivalry Returns in 2027

The extension of Ferrari's commitment until 2029 aligns with the confirmed return of Ford to the WEC in 2027 with its LMDh Hypercar program. This historic rivalry returns more than five decades after the epic duels between the GT40 and Ferrari prototypes in the 1960s.

The extension guarantees that Ferrari will be present during the first three seasons of Ford's return, offering fans the renewal of one of the most legendary rivalries in motorsport.

Ferrari's First World Title Since 2008

The 2025 titles bring Ferrari back to the world forefront after 17 years. The Maranello-based company had not won a world title in any FIA discipline since the Formula 1 constructors' championship in 2008, and the last drivers' title was with Kimi Räikkönen in 2007.
