Lamborghini Squadra Corse and Iron Lynx have announced their final lineup to compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2024. The addition of Matteo Cairoli and Edoardo Mortara, both with a distinguished history in GT racing, further strengthens the team. They join established figures in the world of motorsport such as Mirko Bortolotti, known for his impressive performance in GT races; Andrea Caldarelli, whose versatility in different vehicles is notable; Romain Grosjean, with his vast experience in Formula 1 and IndyCar, bringing key technical skills; and Daniil Kvyat, a former Formula 1 driver, known for his quick adaptability.

Matteo Cairoli and Edoardo Mortara are not new names in the world of motorsport. Both drivers bring to Lamborghini valuable experience in GT racing. Their recent test with the LMDh prototype at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas has been the prelude to what promises to be a dream season. The chemistry between the drivers and the SC63 was evident from their first laps.

The decision to incorporate Cairoli and Mortara is not just a move to strengthen the team, but also part of Lamborghini's long-term vision in endurance racing. Rouven Mohr, Technical Director of Lamborghini, highlighted the importance of concluding the development phase of the SC63 with these additions. The experience and skill of both drivers will be crucial to face the challenges of the 2024 season.

Edoardo Mortara, known as “Mr. Macau,” is a true virtuoso of urban racing. His impressive track record in Macau and his experience in Formula 3 and DTM grant him a unique perspective, ideal for facing the challenges of endurance racing. On the other hand, Matteo Cairoli, with his victory at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring and his background with Porsche, brings a fresh vision and remarkable adaptability to the team.

Lamborghini's strategy for 2024 appears to be meticulously planned. With strong teams participating in both FIA WEC and IMSA, they are clearly aiming to lead. The combination of experience and youth in their driver lineup promises a lot.
