Starting Grid: Chevrolet Detroit Sports Car Classic
Nick Yelloly has achieved his first pole position in IMSA by recording 1:05.762 seconds with the Acura ARX-06 #93 on the slippery streets of Detroit. The Briton ended BMW's perfect streak of pole positions in 2025, while the treacherous conditions of the urban asphalt caused multiple incidents during qualifying sessions.
From Monterey to Detroit: changing protagonists
After Porsche Penske Motorsport achieved their first victory of the season in Monterey with the #6 of Campbell and Jaminet, breaking the streak of the #7 of Tandy and Nasr, the current championship leaders arrive in Detroit with a penalty that relegates them on the grid after losing the engine cover during practice.
BMW M Team RLL continues unable to convert speed into victory after four consecutive poles without triumph, while Acura Meyer Shank Racing seeks to capitalize on their first pole since July 2023 to interrupt Porsche's dominance in 2025.

AO Racing seeks to maintain their GTD PRO streak
In GTD PRO, Sebastian Priaulx achieved his second consecutive pole in Detroit with the Ford Mustang GT3 #64, while AO Racing arrives as the team to beat after achieving their third consecutive victory in Monterey with Heinrich and Bachler's Porsche 911 GT3 R "Roxy".
The 100-minute race promises to be intense on the narrow urban streets, with a single mandatory stop for driver change and refueling. For Acura Meyer Shank Racing, it represents the best opportunity to achieve their first victory since 2022 and break Porsche's dominance that carries four consecutive triumphs in 2025.
