The continuity of the Miami Grand Prix on the Formula 1 calendar has been secured until 2041 following the signing of a 10-year contract extension. The agreement between South Florida Motorsports organizers and F1 executives was announced prior to the 2024 competition, establishing Miami as the race with the longest guaranteed permanence.

The extension comes just three years after the circuit's inclusion in the world championship calendar, demonstrating how quickly this venue has become an essential part of the North American strategy for the planet's most important motorsport category.

The economic impact of the first three editions exceeded one billion dollars for the city, a figure that justifies the long-term commitment from both parties. The race joins Austin and Las Vegas as part of the trio of events that F1 currently maintains in United States territory.

Economic data justifying the investment

The 2024 race set an attendance record with 275,000 spectators present during the entire weekend. Even more impressive was the TV audience: 3.1 million viewers in the United States, the highest figure ever recorded for an F1 broadcast in the country.

"This commitment allows us to continue developing our community programs and investing in improving the fan experience," explained Tom Garfinkel, managing partner of the Grand Prix and CEO of Hard Rock Stadium, the event's main venue.

South Florida Motorsports received recognition as Formula 1's 2024 Promoter of the Year, an award that validates its management model focused on both sporting aspects and the development of social initiatives for the local community.

Three cities to conquer North America

The Miami race holds a prominent place in Liberty Media's strategy (F1's owner) to strengthen its presence in the U.S. market. Unlike the Las Vegas Grand Prix, which is organized directly by Formula One Management, Miami operates under an independent promoter model.

The Miami International Autodrome, built around the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, features a 5.41-kilometer (3.36-mile) layout with 19 corners and three straights where cars reach speeds approaching 320 kilometers per hour (200 mph).
