Oracle Red Bull Racing will showcase a special white and red livery at the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix, inspired by the legendary Honda RA272 that secured the Japanese brand's first victory in Formula 1 six decades ago. This visual tribute marks the end of one of the most successful partnerships in recent motorsport history.
Farewell to a successful collaboration
The relationship between Honda and Red Bull, which began in 2019, will conclude this year after achieving extraordinary results: one Constructors' Championship (2022), two consecutive Drivers' titles with Max Verstappen (2021 and 2022), and near-total dominance in 2023 when they won 21 of the 22 races held.
Our relationship with Honda deserves celebration; it has brought the team one of the most triumphant and dominant eras in our history
Meanwhile, Koji Watanabe, President of Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), commented: "It's moving to see the tribute to the RA272 on Red Bull Racing's latest machine in the final year of our collaboration. Our successful journey will continue to shine in F1 history."
A design with history
The RB21 cars of Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda will feature the Japanese flag motif, the "H" logo on the nose, and the Honda emblem on the rear bodywork. A special logo commemorating 60 years since Honda's first F1 victory will also appear on all four Red Bull cars on the grid.
Tokyo dresses up for Formula 1
Activities will begin on the Tuesday before the Grand Prix with a "REBL Car Culture Meet" in Tokyo, where fans can admire a 1990s Honda NSX painted in the same colors as the RB21. On Wednesday, a Red Bull Showrun will take place through Tokyo's streets featuring all four current Red Bull F1 drivers.
Complete special edition gear
For the Suzuka weekend, apparel supplier Castore has produced a limited-edition white, red, and black polo shirt for the entire team. Verstappen and Tsunoda will wear custom Sparco race suits in the same colors along with special edition helmets.
Separate futures
Starting in 2026, Red Bull will develop its own power unit in collaboration with Ford, while Honda will return as an official engine supplier for Aston Martin with an agreement lasting through at least 2030.
