The 2025 Formula 1 season kicked off with an event at the O2 Arena in London, where teams showcased their new cars and lineups. Mercedes-AMG Petronas was one of the teams that drew the most attention by unveiling its single-seater and confirming George Russell and Kimi Antonelli as its drivers for the year.

A Global Launch

The team extended its new image beyond the main stage, with activations in locations such as Covent Garden, King’s Cross, and Grand Central Station in New York. Through an animation in collaboration with WhatsApp, fans could see the new design in action at various key points.

A Team with Two Approaches

Mercedes is betting on a mix of experience and youth in 2025. George Russell, with multiple wins and pole positions in his record, aims to establish himself among the frontrunners on the grid. Kimi Antonelli, 18 years old, makes his debut in the top category after progressing through the brand’s development divisions.

Russell emphasized the importance of having a new teammate in the team: "Every driver has been through this situation. Over time, you learn to handle the demands of the environment and the dynamics within such a big team." Antonelli, for his part, expressed his excitement about sharing a team with Russell and highlighted the importance of growing up within Mercedes’ young driver program.

From London to the Track

Before the event, Russell and Antonelli traveled through London by subway to North Greenwich, where the presentation took place. A gesture aimed at bringing them closer to the public and reflecting the city's significance in this season opener.

With the season underway, Mercedes-AMG Petronas faces a new challenge with a refreshed lineup and the expectation of making the most of its new single-seater.
