Oliver Solberg once again showcased his speed at home by claiming his third consecutive victory in WRC2 at the Rally Sweden. Behind the wheel of the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, the Swede secured the win with a 42.5-second advantage over Roope Korhonen, who finished second in a similar car.

Absolute control by Solberg on the snowy tracks of Umeå

From the start of the competition, Solberg maintained an unmatched pace on the snow and ice stages, solidifying his victory without major setbacks. At the end of Sunday’s Power Stage, the driver expressed his satisfaction with the result: "Winning three times in a row here, and now with a new car, is a great feeling. We worked hard to achieve this level of performance, and the team has done an excellent job."

First podium for Korhonen in WRC2

Roope Korhonen, 2023 WRC3 champion, achieved his best result in the category to date, securing his first podium and also claiming victory in the WRC2 Challenger Championship. His performance in Sweden surpasses his previous fourth-place finish in the same event.

Heikkilä completes the podium after a close battle

Mikko Heikkilä, driving a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, finished third after prevailing in a tight contest with Lauri Joona and Georg Linnamäe. The Finn set the fastest time in several key stages on Saturday and Sunday, allowing him to secure his position with a gap of nearly 40 seconds over Joona.

Challenges for Linnamäe and strong performance by Reiersen

Georg Linnamäe had moments of great speed, but two off-track excursions into snowbanks distanced him from the front positions. He ultimately fell outside the top 10. Meanwhile, Swedish driver Isak Reiersen finished fifth, followed by Paraguayan driver Fau Zaldivar in sixth.

Jürgenson leaves a good impression in his debut

Estonian driver Romet Jürgenson, reigning FIA Junior WRC champion, made his WRC2 debut in a Ford Fiesta Rally2 and finished seventh, beating the previous category winner at the event, Pontus Tidemand, by over a minute.

Yamamoto’s recovery and a top 10 finish for Mauro

After his accident in Monte Carlo, Yuki Yamamoto achieved his best result in the category by finishing ninth. Meanwhile, Mexican driver Alejandro Mauro rounded out the top ten with his Fabia RS Rally2.
