The first race of the 2025 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series season ended with Corey Heim as the winner after Parker Kligerman was disqualified for technical irregularities in his truck.
Technical Inspection Decisive
Kligerman led the final laps after avoiding a multi-truck incident in Turn 4, which triggered the eighth yellow flag of the night. Although he crossed the finish line first, the subsequent technical inspection determined that his truck did not meet the minimum height requirement, resulting in his disqualification. Heim was declared the winner, earning his first victory at Daytona and the 12th of his career.
"It was a complicated situation in the last 20 laps," Heim said. "We were all at the limit on worn tires, running three-wide. I'm happy with the result, although it's unfortunate what happened to Parker and his team."
Ruggiero and Majeski Complete the Podium
Rookie Giovanni Ruggiero finished second after leading 11 laps in his first superspeedway experience. "I learned a lot tonight. It will help me a lot for the Atlanta race," the Toyota driver said.
Reigning series champion Ty Majeski completed the podium. The driver showed improvements on this type of track, which had not previously been his strong suit. "Today was important for us as a team. These tracks are not easy for me, but we made good progress," Majeski said.
Strong Performance by Pérez de Lara
Mexican driver Andrés Pérez de Lara finished 14th, standing out for his consistency and ability to avoid trouble in a tough setting.
Other notable results include Grant Enfinger, who recovered from damage and a penalty to finish fourth, and Frankie Muniz, who achieved his best result so far with a 10th-place finish. Michael McDowell returned to the category after more than a decade, finishing 26th.
