Red Bull returns to the NASCAR Cup Series after announcing its partnership with Trackhouse Racing. The energy drink brand will be the official sponsor of the No. 88 Chevrolet driven by Shane van Gisbergen in five races of the 2025 season. Additionally, it will also sponsor young driver Connor Zilisch, who will make his top-tier debut with the No. 87 Chevrolet at the Circuit of the Americas on March 2.

Red Bull returns to NASCAR after more than a decade

Since leaving the series at the end of the 2011 season, Red Bull had not been present as a sponsor in car designs. This new agreement marks its first direct involvement in NASCAR since then. Justin Marks, founder and owner of Trackhouse Racing, highlighted the importance of this partnership, considering Red Bull one of the most influential brands in global motorsport. Marks emphasized that this collaboration strengthens the team's commitment to growth and innovation in the sport.

Shane van Gisbergen and his consolidation in NASCAR

Van Gisbergen, a native of New Zealand, has been a Red Bull athlete since 2016. During his career in the Supercars series, he secured three championships (2016, 2021, and 2022), 78 victories, and 47 poles, becoming the fourth-most successful driver in the history of the category. His NASCAR debut occurred in 2023 when he won the inaugural street race in Chicago as part of Trackhouse Racing's PROJECT91, becoming the first driver in 60 years to win their Cup Series debut.

After moving to the United States, Van Gisbergen competed in the Xfinity Series with Kaulig Racing in 2024, where he claimed three victories. In 2025, he will begin his first full season in the Cup Series, backed by Red Bull. His appearances with the brand's signature design will include races in Las Vegas, Sonoma, Iowa, Daytona, and Kansas.

Van Gisbergen emphasized the importance of once again having Red Bull's support, describing it as a key ally in his career. He also expressed his motivation to achieve victories in honor of the brand.

Connor Zilisch and his awaited debut in the Cup Series

Connor Zilisch, 18, will also be part of this partnership with Red Bull. The driver has already showcased his talent with an impressive record in 2024, which includes a victory in his debut in the Xfinity Series at Watkins Glen, poles in the Craftsman Truck Series, and wins in endurance events such as the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Zilisch was named a Red Bull athlete in August 2024, strengthening his relationship with the brand. His Cup Series debut at the Circuit of the Americas represents an important step in his career. In his statements, he expressed surprise and excitement about this opportunity, highlighting Red Bull's relevance in his career.

Trackhouse Racing and its growth in motorsport

Since its founding in 2020, Trackhouse Racing has experienced remarkable growth. Based in Nashville, the team has established itself in the NASCAR Cup Series with drivers such as Daniel Su\u00e1rez and Ross Chastain, who brought significant victories to the team in its early seasons.

In 2024, Trackhouse Racing also expanded to MotoGP, marking the return of an American team to the category after more than a decade. This growth includes the addition of Van Gisbergen and Zilisch as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in various motorsport disciplines.
