The fourth stage of the Dakar 2025, held between Al Henakiyah and Alula, reshaped key positions in the general classification after 415 kilometers of demanding tests. The volcanic terrain and towering canyons of Alula presented a technical challenge that pushed competitors to their limits.

Yazeed Al Rajhi narrows the gap in the general classification

Yazeed Al Rajhi excelled during this stage with consistent driving that allowed him to reduce the time gap with leader Henk Lategan. Driving a Toyota Hilux for Overdrive, Al Rajhi finished the day as the fastest driver, placing himself less than seven minutes behind the leader in the general classification. Lategan, also with Toyota, retained his position thanks to steady driving that strengthened his lead.

Matthieu Serradori climbs to fourth place

Driver Matthieu Serradori made a significant jump in the standings, moving from seventh to fourth place. His collaboration with co-driver Loïc Minaudier was instrumental in overtaking several competitors and closing in on the third spot, currently held by Mattias Ekström. Serradori remains a strong contender as he continues to push for better results.

Mechanical issues impact Nasser Al Attiyah

Nasser Al Attiyah faced a challenging day after an early puncture and a rear suspension failure. These setbacks dropped him to seventh place in the general classification, with a delay of more than 35 minutes behind the leader. Support from teammate Cristina Gutiérrez and technical expertise from his co-driver were crucial in completing the stage.

Results in other categories

In the truck category, Martin Macík secured his third consecutive stage victory, extending his lead over Ales Loprais. In the lightweight vehicles category, Sara Price delivered a solid performance, finishing ahead of Chaleco López in this stage, although the overall lead remains with Brock Heger.

The upcoming stages

With eight stages remaining, competitors face the second day of the marathon stage. The challenging terrain and strategic decisions will be critical in determining the outcome of this Dakar edition. Rally fans will closely follow the evolving positions in the standings.
