Alonso Salinas has been confirmed as the 2024 Trucks México Series champion after a technical review altered the results of the final race held on November 2.

The championship finale featured an intense battle among drivers Mateo Girón, Alonso Salinas, Gerardo Rodríguez, and Esteban Rodríguez, all of whom entered the last race with a chance to claim the title. Although Gerardo Rodríguez crossed the finish line first in the #08, a non-compliant part led to a penalty that dropped him ten positions, placing him in eleventh and making him the season’s runner-up.

Following this adjustment, Salinas, who had initially finished second in the #7, moved up to first place, securing his third win of the season and claiming the championship title.

Changes in the final race results

The technical review also impacted other results. Esteban Rodríguez, driver of the #8, who had finished third on track, was penalized and dropped to 13th place. This allowed Rodrigo Maggio in the #67 to move up to second place, while Valeria Aranda achieved her first podium finish by taking third with the #27.

Meanwhile, Jan Phillip Krüll, driver of the #99, received a five-point penalty in the overall standings due to another technical infraction. Despite this, Krüll retained the “Rookie of the Year” title, thanks to his five-point lead over the closest competitor.

Conclusion of the championship

After exhausting all appeal processes as per the regulations, the final results of the 2024 season were confirmed. The organization reiterated its commitment to fairness in the competition, ensuring that drivers comply with the established rules.
