The Aquiles Speedway Park closed its 2024 season with the "Gran Premio Revolución", an event that featured a good turnout from both the audience and drivers. Some championships were decided in this final race, while others had already been secured. Below is a summary of what happened in each category.
V8 Novice Category: A Chaotic Start and a Contested Finish
The V8 Novice race started in a chaotic manner with an accident involving nine cars before finishing the first lap, which led to a red flag. After the second restart, Iván Armendáriz (#11) took the lead, while Edwin Terrazas (#28) began to climb positions until he reached second place. A yellow flag late in the race eliminated the gaps, leading to a final showdown between Armendáriz and Terrazas. After an exchange between them, Terrazas lost ground and dropped to third place, leaving the podium as follows:
- Iván Armendáriz (#11)
- Daniel Calzadillas (#12)
- Edwin Terrazas (#28)
Pony Experts: From Dominance to a Surprise Victory
In the Pony Experts category, Manuel Pérez Jr. (#13) started the race leading consistently, as he had done throughout the season. Aarón Salcido (#44) seemed destined to finish in second place, but mechanical issues led to his retirement. This opened the opportunity for Diego Martínez (#47), who in the last laps managed to snatch first place from Pérez Jr., while Diego Acosta (#35) completed the podium. With these results, Manuel Pérez Jr. was crowned champion of the season:
- Diego Martínez (#47)
- Manuel Pérez Jr. (#13)
- Diego Acosta (#35)
V8 Standard: Mid-Pack Battles
The V8 Standard race was also marked by an accident on the first lap, similar to what happened in V8 Novice. Christian Balderrama (#25) managed to stay firmly in the lead to win the competition, while the most intense fight was for second place. Oscar Carrasco (#555) defended the position against Xavier Guerrero (#44) and Fernando Tapia (#21), who pressured him until the very end.

Modified: Unstoppable Performance and On-Track Rivalries

José Durán (#27) dropped out due to an incident that caused a yellow flag on the first lap, while the most interesting battle was between Óscar Pérez (#8X) and Humberto Pérez (#8), who finished second and third, respectively.

This event handed the title to Gustavo Pérez. Gerardo Balderrama (#72B) led the race from start to finish, while Óscar Pérez and Jorge Balderrama (#97) battled for second place until another incident took Jorge out. Vintage: Incidents and Safety Issues

Luis García (#80) claimed victory, followed by Jonathan Sigala (#04) and Emmanuel Olazarán (#222). Near the end of the race, Brandon Figueroa (#F4) collided with Héctor González (#93), causing González's helmet to be thrown from the car. This incident is extremely concerning, as it highlights serious safety failures that should not be ignored. Fortunately, Héctor González did not suffer serious injuries and was able to get out of the car on his own, but the situation clearly exposed the deficiencies that still exist in the safety of this sport.
