Formula 1 has confirmed a preliminary agreement for the inclusion of General Motors (GM) and Cadillac as the eleventh team on the grid for 2026. The negotiation, which has developed throughout the year, follows the commercial evaluation and the decision made in January 2024, when the category began discussions with GM and its partners at TWG Global to explore the feasibility of entering the championship.

As the talks have progressed, General Motors has solidified its commitment to establishing a presence in Formula 1 under the Cadillac brand. While the entry as an engine supplier will occur at a later stage, the initial focus to become the eleventh team on the grid has already been formalized. The approval process is ongoing, and more details will be shared as progress is made.
