Salvador de Alba and Jorge de la Parra achieve victories in the Super Copa Roshfrans in CDMX

Two intense GTM races accompanied the Mexico City Grand Prix

The Mexico City Grand Prix weekend did not only capture the public's attention because of Formula 1. The GTM series of the Súper Copa Roshfrans was also part of the program, with two highly contested races that showcased the skills of the top drivers in national motorsport.

Salvador de Alba Takes Race 1

Saturday began with an outstanding performance by Salvador de Alba Jr. Starting from pole, he took advantage of his position to maintain control from the beginning and never relinquished the lead, crossing the finish line in first place without major complications.

Jorge de la Parra secured second place after overtaking Paul Jourdain and Pablo Pérez de Lara in the early laps. Pablo Pérez de Lara took the third step of the podium after facing some technical issues midway through the race.

At the end, Salvador de Alba Jr. highlighted his team's collective effort, emphasizing the car's consistency and his aim to repeat the result in Sunday's race. Meanwhile, Jorge de la Parra was optimistic, mentioning that with a couple more laps, he could have attempted to catch the leader.

Jorge de la Parra Wins Race 2 After a Tight Battle

On Sunday, the second race of the weekend had a much closer development. Salvador de Alba Jr. once again started from pole, aiming to repeat his victory, but Jorge de la Parra stayed close from the start, managing to overtake the driver from Guadalajara halfway through the race to secure first place.

Emiliano Richards took advantage of his rivals' mistakes to move up to second place, although he was later overtaken by Salvador de Alba. Despite several overtaking attempts among the top three, the final podium saw De la Parra in first place, followed by Salvador de Alba and Richards in third.

At the end of the race, Jorge de la Parra thanked his team for providing a competitive car, emphasizing the clean nature of the competition, where, despite the close battles, there were no incidents. Meanwhile, Emiliano Richards admitted feeling some frustration, as at times he felt he could win, but he ultimately recognized the quality of the show provided.
