Technical Features of the Ypsilon Rally4 HF
The Ypsilon Rally4 HF is powered by a 1.2-liter turbo engine, with three cylinders and four valves per cylinder. With 212 horsepower, the power is managed by a five-speed SADEV dog-ring gearbox and a mechanical limited-slip differential, ensuring optimal traction on challenging terrains. Additionally, its front-wheel drive enhances agility and precision in tight corners.
Regarding the brakes, the model is equipped with 330 mm ventilated discs on the front axle, providing firm and controlled braking, essential for rallying. The McPherson suspension includes three-way adjustable Ohlins shock absorbers, allowing drivers to tailor the vehicle's behavior to track conditions.
Optimization and Safety of the Ypsilon Rally4 HF
The CMP platform in MHEV (mild-hybrid electric vehicle) version has allowed the Ypsilon Rally4 HF's weight to be optimized, making it light but durable. The roll cage, made of steel tubes welded in a lattice structure, offers safety and structural rigidity, critical elements to comply with rally safety regulations.
The Lancia Rally Trophy
Along with Lancia's return to rallying, the Lancia Rally Trophy has been announced, starting in 2025 with six races in the Italian Rally Championship. Drivers will compete for cash prizes and the opportunity to join the official Lancia Corse HF team in the 2026 European Rally Championship. The tournament is designed to promote the development of young drivers, with three categories based on age and an entry fee that includes technical assistance and other services.
The Return of HF: Ypsilon HF and Future Releases
Alongside the Ypsilon Rally4 HF, Lancia has also introduced the Ypsilon HF, a road version with a 280-horsepower electric motor. This model, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, incorporates design elements from the brand's classic sports cars.
