Joe Gibbs Racing has confirmed that William Sawalich, a two-time champion in the ARCA Menards Series East, will join their team in the NASCAR Xfinity Series starting in 2025. Sawalich will compete full-time in the No. 18 Toyota GR Supra, sponsored by Starkey and their SoundGear product line.
Sawalich’s rise in ARCA
The 18-year-old Minnesota native has shown excellent performance over the past two seasons in ARCA, accumulating 18 victories in 39 races. Thanks to his consistency, he secured consecutive championships in the ARCA Menards Series East in 2023 and 2024.
Sawalich has also excelled in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, where he achieved his first pole position at Talladega the day after turning 18.
A new challenge in the Xfinity Series
Sawalich expressed his excitement for this new opportunity, stating: "It’s an honor to continue with Joe Gibbs Racing and to have the chance to compete full-time in the Xfinity Series. This step will allow me to keep improving as a driver."
The driver will be supported by Starkey, a company specializing in hearing technology. Their SoundGear products, designed to offer protection and sound enhancement, are aimed at sectors like motorsports and hunting.

Joe Gibbs Racing is one of the most successful teams in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, with a total of 214 victories to date. The team has helped 23 drivers reach victory in this category, with 14 of them earning their first win with the team. Additionally, they have won multiple driver and owner championships.
Steve de Souza, executive vice president of Xfinity Series and development at Joe Gibbs Racing, highlighted that Sawalich has demonstrated his readiness to compete at the next level: "William has shown continuous progress in ARCA, and we are confident that he is ready to take on this new challenge in the Xfinity Series."
