Nick Sanchez was announced as the new member of Big Machine Racing for the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. Scott Borchetta, team owner, confirmed that Sanchez will drive the #48 Chevrolet, with Gainbridge as a sponsor. This decision comes after his time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, where he secured two wins driving for Rev Racing.
Sanchez has had a notable career in previous categories, including his ARCA Menards Series championship in 2022. That same year, the driver competed for Big Machine Racing, participating in six Xfinity Series events, showing solid performance behind the wheel of the #48 Chevrolet.
Gaining ground in NASCAR Xfinity
With Gainbridge's support, Sanchez will make his full transition to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025. The company will continue to support the driver in this new phase, building on the relationship established during his time in the Truck Series. Dan Towriss, CEO of Group 1001, expressed satisfaction in continuing to advance Sanchez's career and highlighted the expectations for his future growth.
Meanwhile, Borchetta commented that from Sanchez's first race with Big Machine Racing in 2022, his performance has been remarkable. Under the guidance of Patrick Donahue, the team expects a strong season with Sanchez as their main driver in 2025.
Sanchez ready for a new challenge
Nick Sanchez expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to officially join the team for next season. He thanked his sponsors for their support and mentioned that he feels ready to compete at the highest level and fight for top positions behind the wheel of the #48 Chevrolet.
Team transition
Big Machine Racing, which debuted in the Xfinity Series in 2021, has shown consistent growth in its results. Currently, the team is in the top 10 of the 2024 championship standings with Parker Kligerman. However, Kligerman announced he would step away from full-time competition after this season, paving the way for Sanchez to take the lead in 2025. Borchetta took the opportunity to acknowledge Kligerman’s contributions, emphasizing his ability to achieve competitive results and his role in the team’s development. Although Kligerman will be leaving, the team remains open to future collaborations.
