Local categories join the Súper Copa Roshfrans in Chihuahua
The Autódromo Francisco Villa hosted an event where local categories had the chance to race alongside the Súper Copa Roshfrans. During the weekend, drivers from Chihuahua and the Laguna region participated in various competitions. The categories Pony Expertos and Novatos, Super Turismos, and Trans Am were part of the action on track, showcasing a notable variety of cars and a competitive atmosphere.
Pony Expertos and Novatos: Full grid of 36 cars
One of the most notable races was Pony Expertos and Novatos, which on this occasion was run jointly, gathering 36 cars on the same grid. This unusual format, as they are usually split into heats or separate races, provided a unique spectacle. Despite the high number of competitors, the race was close, with minimal differences in lap times among the top finishers in both categories. Jorge Gómez (#17) won in the Expertos category, while Jacobo Loya (#28) took the victory in Novatos.
Super Turismos
The Super Turismos category offered a varied competition, with cars of different configurations, including naturally aspirated, turbo, and tubular setups. Local drivers and those from the Laguna region performed well. The diversity in this category was one of the elements that captured the public's attention.
Trans Am
In the Trans Am category, the cars showcased their ability to reach high speeds. Rafael Vallina (#0), Humberto Pérez (#8), and Otto Stege (#69) were the fastest drivers, maintaining a competitive pace throughout the race. The times achieved were very close to those recorded in the main category of the Súper Copa.
