Salvador de Alba dominates in Chihuahua with wins in GTM Pro 1 and podium in tractor-trailers

Salvador de Alba Jr. had a dominant weekend during the sixth round of the Súper Copa Roshfrans 2024, held at the Autódromo Francisco Villa in Chihuahua. Driving the Mercedes Benz #1, he won both GTM Pro 1 races, reinforcing his lead in the championship. Additionally, in the truck race, he secured a podium finish by placing second.

Dominance in GTM Pro 1

The first GTM Pro 1 race started with Salvador de Alba in second position, but he quickly took the lead after Rubén García Jr., who had secured pole, was forced to start from the back due to a technical issue with his car's window. From then on, De Alba maintained the lead, holding off pressure from Pablo Pérez de Lara, who finished second. José Arellano completed the podium in third place.

During the race, an incident involving Andrik Dimayuga and Irwin Vences caused a red flag. Both drivers' cars had to be removed, but fortunately, neither was injured.

In the second race of the day, Salvador de Alba started from pole position again after setting the fastest time in the morning qualifying session. He once again led from start to finish, with Rubén García Jr. finishing second and Emiliano Richards securing the third spot on the podium.

These results allowed Salvador de Alba to regain the lead in the GTM Pro 1 championship, making him one of the favorites for the final two rounds of the season in Puebla and Mérida.

Podium in the truck race

In the truck category, Santiago Tovar claimed victory after a solid performance, moving up from third position. Salvador de Alba Jr., who also competed in this category, finished second with his truck #48. Juan Cantú completed the podium in third place.
