The Haas Factory Team has confirmed its driver lineup for the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. Sheldon Creed and Sam Mayer will be driving full-time for the team in the Ford Mustang Dark Horse cars, with numbers 00 and 41, respectively. This change marks a new chapter for the organization as it seeks to strengthen its presence in the category after inheriting the program from Stewart-Haas Racing.

New approach with the number 41

One of the most notable decisions by Haas Factory Team was choosing the number 41 for one of its cars in the Xfinity Series, replacing the traditional number 98. This move aims to better align the team with its global strategy, especially after announcing that Cole Custer will use the number 41 in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Team statements

Joe Custer, president of Haas Factory Team, stated that the name and structure change will not affect the team's commitment to victory. "The Xfinity program we developed at Stewart-Haas has been consistent in winning races and championships. Now, as Haas Factory Team, that commitment remains strong," Custer commented.

The drivers

Sheldon Creed, the 2020 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion, joins the team with the intention of securing his first victory in the Xfinity Series. Despite several second-place finishes, Creed believes that Haas Factory Team offers him the ideal opportunity to succeed in this category. "I've won in every category I've competed in. Now I want to win in the Xfinity Series, and I believe this team is the right place to do it," Creed declared.

On the other hand, Sam Mayer, who has already achieved six victories in the Xfinity Series and reached the Championship 4 in 2023, will also join Haas with high expectations. Mayer sees this team as an opportunity to develop as a driver and prepare for a possible promotion to the NASCAR Cup Series.

Outlook for 2024 and beyond

Both drivers will continue competing in the 2024 season, with Mayer already qualified for the Xfinity Series playoffs thanks to his victories in Texas and Iowa. Creed, with a comfortable lead in the standings, also has a high probability of securing his place in the postseason.

The arrival of Creed and Mayer at Haas Factory Team represents a strategic step for the team, which seeks to consolidate its position in the Xfinity Series with an eye on the future. With these drivers at the wheel, the team hopes to compete at the highest level and add more trophies to its collection.
