AJ Allmendinger will return to the NASCAR Cup Series. Kaulig Racing confirmed that the driver, who has been key in their Xfinity Series team, will compete full-time in the top category in 2025.

Allmendinger, 42 years old and a native of Los Gatos, California, has been on NASCAR's radar for some time. This year, he has shown great form, with several top-5 and top-10 finishes in the Xfinity Series, placing him among the championship's best. In the Cup Series, Allmendinger has driven the Chevrolet No. 16 in some races, managing to secure three top-10 finishes. During 2024, this car has been shared by several drivers, but next year it will be exclusively for Allmendinger.

After his departure from JTG Daugherty Racing in 2018, it seemed his career in the Cup Series had come to an end. But his success with Kaulig Racing in the Xfinity Series opened doors for him once again. His victories at Indianapolis and Charlotte in 2021 and 2022, respectively, showed that he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level.

Now, with Kaulig Racing's confirmation, Allmendinger has the opportunity to return to the Cup Series and compete full-time. The team, which already has two cars in the category, is confident that his experience and talent will allow them to make strides in 2025.

With 440 races and three victories in the Cup Series, Allmendinger has the experience to face this challenge. The 2025 season will be crucial to see how his return develops and if he can add more victories to his career.
