David Malukas, a young 22-year-old driver, has signed a multi-year contract with AJ Foyt Racing to compete in the 2025 IndyCar Series season. This move marks a new chapter in his career, following his brief and challenging stint with Arrow McLaren and his return to the track with Meyer Shank Racing (MSR). The news has been confirmed by the Foyt team, known for its long history in American motorsports.

The year 2024 was not an easy one for Malukas. After signing a contract with Arrow McLaren in September of the previous year, a wrist injury caused by a mountain biking accident left him out of the first competitions of the season. This unfortunate incident led to the termination of his contract without having officially debuted with the team. However, his return to action was not long in coming when he signed with MSR to return to competition in June.

During his time with MSR, Malukas proved to be a solid competitor, qualifying in the top 12 in four of his last five races and achieving a notable sixth place on the Toronto street circuit. These results caught the attention of AJ Foyt Racing, a team that has been on the rise thanks to the influence of its technical director, Michael Cannon, and a technical alliance with Team Penske.

The team’s president, Larry Foyt, highlighted Malukas’ natural abilities and competitive spirit as key reasons for his signing. Malukas is expected to bring freshness and dynamism to the team, which has had a resurgent season with Santino Ferrucci leading the iconic No. 14 car.
