The ninth round of the Trucks México Series 2024 took place at the Autódromo de Querétaro, an event marked by hot weather and enthusiastic fans. On this occasion, Alonso Salinas claimed victory, surpassing Esteban Rodríguez and Gerardo Rodríguez in the final laps of the competition.
From the start, Gerardo Rodríguez positioned himself as the man to beat, leading the grid of 19 competitors with his #08 truck, closely followed by Esteban Rodríguez. The race began without incidents and remained clean until lap 30, when the first segment was completed with Gerardo Rodríguez in the lead.
The scenario changed drastically on lap 38, when a multi-car crash involved several drivers, including Helio Meza and Andrea Lozano. This incident forced a prolonged red flag, adding tension to the race.
After the restart, Esteban Rodríguez took the lead, holding the position until the final laps. However, a new yellow flag three laps from the finish allowed Alonso Salinas to seize the opportunity. In an unexpected finish, Salinas, with his #7 truck, managed to overtake Esteban Rodríguez, securing the victory at the Querétaro oval.
The next round of the Trucks México Series is scheduled for September 1 at the Óvalo Aguascalientes México, where the penultimate race of the regular season will take place.
