Jamie Chadwick, a 26-year-old British driver, will test with the Andretti INDYCAR team following the 2024 INDY NXT season. The test will take place on September 30 at Barber Motorsports Park.
Chadwick joined open-wheel racing in the United States in 2023, becoming the first woman to compete full-time in the INDY NXT series in 13 years. During her rookie season, she achieved five top-10 finishes. In 2024, she secured a podium at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and a victory from pole position at Road America, making her the first woman to achieve these milestones on a road or street course in the series.
Before joining Andretti, Chadwick won the W Series Championship three times consecutively and set records for wins, podiums, and pole positions. Additionally, she was the first woman and the youngest driver to win a race in the British GT Championship and the BRDC British Formula 3. She also won the MRF Challenge Championship in 2018-19.
Andretti Global, with over 20 years of success on the track, has consistently supported promising young drivers. Drivers like Colton Herta, Kyle Kirkwood, and Marco Andretti have advanced through Andretti's INDY NXT program. The organization values hard work and talent, providing opportunities for drivers like Chadwick to showcase their abilities.
Jamie Chadwick expressed her excitement for the INDYCAR test, thanking Andretti Global for the opportunity. Michael Andretti, CEO of Andretti Global, highlighted Chadwick's progress and potential, emphasizing the organization's commitment to developing new talent. The test at Barber Motorsports Park will be a crucial step in Chadwick's career, as she aims to compete in the NTT INDYCAR series.
