Maserati MSG Racing has announced the addition of Stoffel Vandoorne and Jake Hughes for season 11 of the FIA Formula E World Championship. This strategic move aims to strengthen the team for the 2024/25 campaign, marked by the introduction of the new Gen3 Evo electric car.
Stoffel Vandoorne, world champion in season 8, will face his seventh year in Formula E. Since his debut with McLaren in Formula 1, Vandoorne has built a solid reputation in the electric series, excelling in both races and qualifying. With three victories, 16 podiums, and eight poles, his experience will be crucial for the development of Maserati MSG Racing.
Jake Hughes, on the other hand, enters his third season after a strong performance since his debut with McLaren in season 9. Hughes secured a pole in his third race and has maintained competitive performance, achieving his first podium in the Shanghai E-Prix in season 10. His return to Maserati MSG Racing, where he was a reserve driver in season 7, promises a smooth transition and a strong start to season 11.
Both drivers will make their official debut with the team during the preseason tests at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain, from November 4 to 7, 2024. The season will begin in São Paulo, Brazil, on December 7, 2024, with a record calendar of 17 races.
