Kalle Rovanperä achieved a clear victory at the Tet Rally Latvia, adding another consecutive win in gravel events. This competition was special for him, as he won the first round of the World Rally Championship in Latvia.

The competition started on Thursday in Rīga and continued to Liepāja. Rovanperä, with his Toyota GR Yaris Rally1, gained an early lead and maintained it until the end, finishing 39.2 seconds ahead of his teammate Sébastien Ogier.

Rovanperä thanked his team and co-driver Jonne Halttunen for their excellent performance. Local driver Mārtiņš Sesks faced transmission problems in the last stage, dropping from third to seventh place.

Ott Tänak secured the final podium spot after a tough competition with Sesks. This performance allowed Tänak to move up to second place in the championship standings, closing in on leader Thierry Neuville. Both drivers faced difficulties with road conditions and mechanical issues, affecting their final results.

Adrien Fourmaux of M-Sport Ford and Elfyn Evans of Toyota completed the top five, showing consistency throughout the stages. Takamoto Katsuta, Gregoire Munster, and Oliver Solberg also stood out, with Solberg winning in the WRC2 category.

The next round in Finland will present new challenges, with drivers looking to score important points in the championship battle.
