While the world focuses on the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Suárez will join this international competition. Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Suárez will be in Brazil to celebrate his wedding with Julia Piquet and will also race at the famous circuit before returning to the United States.
Suárez expressed his enthusiasm for competing in the NASCAR Brasil Series and mentioned that, in addition to being a new experience, it allows him to race in a country his fiancée calls home. He thanked NASCAR for their support throughout his career and hopes to attract attention to the series from outside Brazil.
The invitation comes during a two-week break in the NASCAR Cup Series due to the Olympics. Previously, Suárez competed in an international event in the NASCAR Mexico Series at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, where he won in his first series start since 2014.
Launched in 2022, the NASCAR Brasil Series is NASCAR's fourth international series and the first in South America. The series, which began competing in 2023 in partnership with the GT Sprint Race of Brazil, has strengthened the motorsports culture in the country.
Chad Seigler, Vice President and Chief International Officer of NASCAR, highlighted the importance of Suárez's participation in the global expansion of the series and the opportunity it provides for talented competitors to advance their careers.
Brazil has had a strong presence in NASCAR over the past two decades, with drivers like Christian Fittipaldi, Nelson Piquet Jr., and Miguel Paludo competing in various NASCAR series in the United States.
Thiago Marques, NASCAR Brasil representative, commented that Suárez's presence adds great value to the grid and is confident he will perform well at Interlagos.
Special Edition Format
The Special Edition of the NASCAR Brasil Series follows a different format from the main championship. Saturday features a qualifying session and the first race, while Sunday includes two more races. The starting order for the first two races is determined by qualifying, and the average of their results sets the order for the final race.
Ticket sales will begin on Wednesday, July 17 on the Disk Ingressos website.
