Rubén García Jr., from the Canel’s-Logitech-Laboratorios Tequis team, won the sixth race of the NASCAR México Series season at the Autódromo Miguel E. Abed in Amozoc, Puebla. Driving the Chevrolet No. 88, García Jr. overtook Xavi Razo on the last lap after a yellow flag, securing his victory.
"I always believed that races are won from the outside, and that's what I did. I knew I had more power and took advantage of it coming out of the first turn," commented García Jr. after the race. His next goal is the upcoming race in his sponsors' hometown.
At the award ceremony, authorities such as the Governor of Puebla, Sergio Salomón Céspedes; the President of the State DIF, Gabriela Bonilla; the Secretary of Tourism of the State, Marta Teresa Ornelas Guerrero; and NASCAR representatives Jimmy Morales and Jason Simons, as well as the brothers Jorge and Yusif Abed from the racetrack, were present.
Jimmy Morales thanked the governor and other authorities for their presence, highlighting the support for sports. The governor, in turn, praised the racetrack and the organization of the event.
Xavi Razo, who finished second, expressed his disagreement with the last yellow flag, considering it unnecessary. Santiago Tovar finished third, highlighting the good performance of Team GP with a one-three finish.
