The World Rally Championship is preparing to expand its calendar to 14 rounds for the 2025 season. Official confirmation is expected this month, following FIA approval via an electronic vote.

Global Expansion and New Additions

In 2025, the WRC will include five rounds outside Europe, with new venues in Paraguay and Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the Rally Islas Canarias will join the calendar. Simon Larkin, WRC event director, mentioned at Rally Poland that the calendar is almost ready and will be presented to the World Motor Sport Council by the end of June.

Changes and Confirmations in Europe

In addition to the new events, the Monte Carlo Rally will open the season in January, while Saudi Arabia will close the calendar. Poland will not be part of the 2025 calendar, but Estonia will return, replacing Latvia. The European rounds will include Sweden, Portugal, Italy (Sardinia), Finland, Greece, and the Central European Rally.

Provisional WRC 2025 Calendar

This provisional calendar is not in order and is not official:

  • Monte Carlo
  • Sweden
  • Portugal
  • Italy
  • Finland
  • Greece
  • Central European Rally
  • Chile
  • Paraguay
  • Kenya
  • Japan
  • Rally Islas Canarias
  • Estonia
  • Saudi Arabia

Logistical Planning

The WRC plans to run the South American events within a three-week window to ease team logistics. This method, previously used in 2019 with the Chile and Argentina rounds, will allow the equipment to be transported from Europe to Paraguay, then to Chile, and finally back to Europe, optimizing resources and time.
