Josh Berry will become the new driver of the Ford No. 21 for the Wood Brothers team for the 2025 NASCAR season. At 33 years old, Berry will take over from Harrison Burton, who has been with the team since 2021. During his time with Wood Brothers, Burton has achieved one top-five and five top-10 finishes in 92 races. Berry expressed his honor in joining a team with such a rich history in NASCAR, highlighting the importance of the Wood Brothers in the sport. "It is a privilege to be part of this legacy and drive the iconic No. 21," Berry commented in a statement. Berry's availability came after Tony Stewart and Gene Haas announced the reduction of their operation from four teams to one by the end of the 2024 season. Haas will maintain one Cup Series team and two Xfinity Series teams under the name Haas Factory Team in 2025. Berry has had a notable career in the Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports, and this year he joined Stewart-Haas Racing as the driver of the Ford No. 4. He currently ranks 19th in the championship, with four top-10 finishes in the last seven races. Additionally, he has participated in 10 Cup Series races, standing out in 2023 with a second-place finish in Richmond while filling in for Chase Elliott. Founded in 1950 by Glen Wood, the Wood Brothers team is one of the oldest and most prestigious in NASCAR. Over the years, 20 of NASCAR's best drivers have driven for them, including Curtis Turner, Dale Jarrett, and Mark Martin. The team has achieved 99 victories in the Cup Series, with the most recent in Pocono in 2017 with Ryan Blaney. Since 2015, Wood Brothers has had a technical alliance with Penske, which includes driver development and the use of Penske personnel on the No. 21 team.
