The Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC USA) has confirmed that MSR will be back in the Acura lineup for the 2025 championship. HRC USA will take on a broader operational role, directly managing one of the two Acura ARX-06 vehicles in the GTP category, while MSR will handle the second vehicle.

"Operating our own GTP vehicle is an important step for our team at HRC US," said David Salters, president of HRC USA. "We are excited to partner with MSR to compete against some of the best sports car teams in the world."

Mike Shank, co-owner of MSR along with Jim Meyer, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to return to the Acura family. MSR also competes in the IndyCar Series with two Honda-powered cars.

MSR will manage and maintain both vehicles from its facilities in Etna, Ohio. Previously, the team has competed with several Acura cars, achieving multiple wins and championships in IMSA before its suspension in 2023. Meanwhile, the outgoing team, Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti, seems set to take on the factory-supported Cadillac program in 2025.

"I sincerely thank Wayne Taylor and the WTR with Andretti team for their collaboration and shared successes," said Salters. "We look forward to finishing 2024 with more top-level racing."

Wayne Taylor responded with a statement highlighting the achievements with HRC and Acura over the past four years and emphasizing their focus on securing more podiums and victories to close the year strongly.
