Extreme H has unveiled the Pioneer 25, its first hydrogen-powered racing car, marking an important advance in sustainable motorsport technology. This launch took place aboard the St. Helena vessel, with London's Tower Bridge as the backdrop.
The Extreme H series aims to lead the transition to clean energy by using hydrogen technology in a competitive environment. The Pioneer 25, developed by Spark Racing Technology, is the first vehicle in this series and is designed to demonstrate the viability of hydrogen fuel cells in motorsport. This car has a 75kW motor and can reach a top speed of 200 kph, accelerating from 0 to 100 kph in 4.5 seconds.
The success of Extreme H would not be possible without its partners, including PIF, ENOWA NEOM, Vodafone Business, Symbio, Siemens, and Jackson Swiss Partners. PIF, the main partner, has played a crucial role in the development of the series, integrating hydrogen technology with the support of other key partners.
The Pioneer 25 is equipped with a Symbio hydrogen fuel cell, replacing traditional batteries and providing a more sustainable energy source. This vehicle has undergone a rigorous testing program equivalent to three seasons of competition to ensure its performance and reliability.
Carlos Sainz, Jenson Button, and Ian James, among others, have praised the move towards hydrogen in the Extreme H series. These motorsport leaders recognize the importance of exploring new sustainable technologies and see hydrogen as a resource with great potential for the future of mobility.
