Front Row Motorsports announced that it will compete with three teams in the NASCAR Cup Series in the 2025 season. The organization will also maintain its team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
Owner Bob Jenkins expressed his optimism about the future of NASCAR and the team's expansion. "We have a positive outlook and are committed to the sport and its fans. Today that means expanding to three cars in the NASCAR Cup Series," Jenkins stated.
Jerry Freeze, general manager of FRM, commented on the challenges and preparations needed to form a new team. "We have a lot of work ahead to prepare the new team. Acquiring parts and adding talented personnel are our priorities," said Freeze.
FRM's expansion follows the improvement of its relationship with Ford Performance and an alliance with Team Penske. Announcements regarding drivers will be made later.
Front Row Motorsports is a winning organization in the NASCAR Cup and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. Founded in 2004 by Bob Jenkins, it has achieved significant victories, including the Daytona 500 in 2021 and the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series championship in 2022. FRM operates from Mooresville, North Carolina, and currently competes with the No. 34 and No. 38 teams in the NASCAR Cup Series, and the No. 38 team in the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series.
Impact of Stewart-Haas Racing Closure:
The announcement of FRM's expansion coincides with the closure of Stewart-Haas Racing at the end of the 2024 season. SHR, with two Cup Series titles and 69 wins since 2009, will cease operations due to financial challenges and the withdrawal of Ford support.
SHR's charters will be redistributed among existing teams, including one going to Front Row Motorsports. This will allow FRM to expand and strengthen its presence in the NASCAR Cup Series.
