This May 26, the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, the fastest production Corvette in history, will take the lead at the Indianapolis 500. Scott Bell, global vice president of Chevrolet, commented on the integration of the E-Ray into the event, highlighting the alignment between Chevrolet's competitive spirit and the innovative technologies that characterize both the brand and INDYCAR. The E-Ray, being the first electrified Corvette, features a hybrid system that combines a 6.2L V-8 engine with an electric motor that provides an additional 160 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque, achieving a total of 655 horsepower.

This vehicle not only impresses with its acceleration, going from zero to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, but also with its Stealth mode, which allows electric driving for up to 4 miles at speeds up to 45 mph. Its design includes aerodynamic elements such as standard ground effects and a spoiler that complement its refined aesthetic and track performance.

In addition, the Corvette E-Ray is presented in an attractive Arctic White color with interior details in jet black and natural, inspired by fighter jets, along with Indianapolis 500 logos that highlight its status as a pace car.

J. Douglas Boles, president of IMS, noted the relevance of the Corvette in motorsport, not only as the oldest name in the automotive industry but for its frequent presence as a pace car in "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing". This year will be the 35th time that Chevrolet has played this role since 1948, and the 21st for the Corvette since 1978.
