At the opening of the 2024 NASCAR México season, the San Luis Capital race saw Rubén García Jr. from Canel´s cross the finish line in first position after an intense race of 1 hour, 40 minutes. García Jr. expressed gratitude towards his team for the excellent work on the car, labeling the victory as the desired start for the season.
Xavi Razo came very close to the winner, while other drivers like Julio Rejón, Germán Quiroga, Santiago Tovar, Andrés Pérez de Lara, Jake Cosio, Max Gutiérrez, and Rogelio López completed the top ten.
Despite García Jr.'s dominance, both Alex de Alba and Xavier Razo briefly led during the race. However, eight yellow flags and one red, the latter due to wind gusts exceeding 100 km/h, marked the competition, prompting the organization to take safety measures, such as removing the blankets from the racetrack that were beginning to come off.
Razo from Prime Sports expressed his disappointment for not winning, highlighting the intensity of the competition and looking forward to the next race in Chiapas. Alex, from the Aga Racing Team, lamented losing the second position due to a strategic move during the race.
The next NASCAR México date is scheduled for April 13th and 14th at the Súper Óvalo de Chiapas.
