En una intensa y emocionante tercera fecha de NASCAR México, Rubén García Jr. se llevó la victoria en la Chihuahua 240 en el Dorado Speedway de Chihuahua. Aunque la competencia estaba programada originalmente para el sábado por la noche, las inclemencias del clima obligaron a posponerla hasta el domingo, extendiéndose alrededor de 14 horas más de lo previsto.
El torrencial aguacero hizo su aparición justo antes de la carrera de Trucks México, retrasando el inicio de la competencia. Sin embargo, gracias a la dedicada labor de la organización y al cese de la lluvia después de una hora, se logró secar la pista y dar inicio a la tan esperada carrera.
Desde el inicio, Rubén García Jr. demostró estar alerta y dispuesto a aprovechar cualquier oportunidad que se presentara. Y así fue como, valiéndose de un incidente que retrasó a los pilotos Xavier Razo y Abraham Calderón, logró tomar el liderato y mantenerse en las primeras posiciones durante varias vueltas.
No obstante, cuando faltaban escasamente 14 vueltas para que la carrera fuera declarada oficial, la lluvia regresó de manera implacable y los fanáticos, desalentados, se vieron obligados a abandonar las instalaciones del Dorado Speedway.
De acuerdo con las regulaciones establecidas, se tomó la decisión de esperar un tiempo prudencial e intentar reanudar la carrera. Aunque hubo un breve momento en el que la lluvia disminuyó su intensidad y se realizó un intento de secar la pista, las condiciones no fueron favorables y resultó imposible continuar la competencia en ese momento.
Tras intensas deliberaciones y propuestas presentadas durante una reunión con los propietarios de los equipos, se llegó a un acuerdo para completar la carrera en la mañana del día siguiente, aproximadamente al mediodía.
Finalmente, cuando la bandera a cuadros señaló el final de las 252 vueltas, Rubén García Jr., Xavier Razo y Andrés Pérez de Lara subieron al anhelado podio, celebrando su destacada actuación en la competencia. En la categoría NASCAR Challenge, Alex de Alba logró una impresionante tercera victoria consecutiva, mientras que Jorge de la Parra también se destacó en la pista.
La tercera fecha de NASCAR México en el Dorado Speedway de Chihuahua fue un verdadero testimonio del talento, la determinación y la pasión de los pilotos, quienes enfrentaron valientemente los desafíos climáticos. Los seguidores disfrutaron de una carrera llena de emoción y ahora esperan con entusiasmo la cuarta fecha que tendra lugar en Querétaro el 28 de Mayo.
