Corey Heim demonstrated his mastery at the Circuit of the Americas driving the No. 11 Toyota for TRICON Garage. Heim led 31 of the 46 laps in the XPEL 225 race, achieving his first win of the year and the sixth in his career. This success occurred on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
Heim finished the race with a 1.625-second lead over his teammate, Taylor Gray. Other notable drivers in the top five included Ty Majeski of ThorSport Racing, Connor Zilisch of Spire Motorsports, and Ross Chastain of Niece Motorsports, known for his regular participation in the NASCAR Cup Series.
The competition had several interesting moments, with 14 lead changes among eight drivers. Heim stood out as the only one who led a significant number of laps.
Jack Hawksworth, making his debut in this series, impressed with a sixth-place finish. The drivers who completed the top ten included Ben Rhodes, Christian Eckes, Dean Thompson, and Tanner Gray.
The 17-year-old driver, Connor Zilisch, started in pole position and, despite facing challenges during the race, including a penalty, managed to finish in fifth place.
Nick Sanchez took the victory in the first stage of the race, while Heim won the second, marking his first stage wins of the year.
The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will return on April 5 with the Long John Silver's 200 event at Martinsville Speedway. Heim will be looking to maintain his excellent performance.
