Layne Riggs scored his fifth victory of the year in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series by leading 199 of the 200 laps of the TSport 200 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. The Front Row Motorsports driver swept both stages and finished with a margin of just over one second over Connor Mosack. Ty Majeski, a two‑time previous winner on this 0.686‑mile oval, finished third, and Chandler Smith, Riggs's teammate, was fourth.

The only moment Riggs lost the lead came on the lap 72 restart, when he spun his wheels and Smith moved to the front for two laps. On lap 74, Riggs dived to the inside of Turn 1 and reclaimed the lead with a decisive move. From there, he managed the advantage without Mosack being able to challenge him. "I think we're the team to beat, no doubt," said Riggs, whose championship lead stretched to 99 points over Kaden Honeycutt.

The tension of the night focused on the fight for 10th place in the overall standings, the final spot that grants access to the Chase. Stewart Friesen and Tyler Ankrum arrived at IRP tied on points, and on Friday it was Friesen who moved ahead by finishing sixth, eight points clear of Ankrum, who was ninth. There are two regular‑season races remaining, at Richmond and New Hampshire, to decide who gets the final ticket. Ankrum had said before the race that the last few weeks had been difficult and that he trusted his moment would come soon. For now, the one who stepped forward was Friesen.

The only caution for an on‑track incident came on lap 135, when Daniel Hemric lost control of his Chevrolet in Turn 3 and Landen Lewis, with nowhere to go, hit him. Both retired, and the incident had direct consequences on the standings. Hemric, who had been ninth overall, saw his advantage over Ankrum shrink to just 14 points. Christian Eckes and Giovanni Ruggiero joined the list of drivers with secured Chase berths at IRP, along with Riggs, Honeycutt and Smith.

Gavan Boschele, an 18‑year‑old making his series debut in the TRICON Garage Toyota number 1, finished eighth and achieved the goal he had set for himself. "I wanted a top‑10 and we got it," said Boschele, who will race again at New Hampshire. Michael Christopher Jr., Friesen's teammate at Halmar Friesen Racing, closed out the top 10 in his third appearance in the category. The next event on the calendar is August 14 at Richmond Raceway, where the battle for the final Chase berth will add another chapter.
