The 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed will take place from July 9 to 12 at the Goodwood House estate in West Sussex, and the organisers have confirmed that the 694 entered vehicles will parade up the 1.86‑kilometre hillclimb in an atmosphere driven by exhibition, not competition. Only on Sunday, during the Timed Shoot Out, will a small group of machines push genuinely against the clock, and that is where records have historically fallen. The most famous remains the McMurtry Spéirling's 39.081‑second run in 2022 with Max Chilton at the wheel. For this edition, McMurtry returns to the Supercars area with the production version, the Spéirling Pure, which features a 100 kWh battery and two Helix motors producing approximately 1,000 horsepower. The company has not announced that it will go after its own record, but simply seeing it climb again connects with one of the festival's most memorable moments.

That same spirit of showing without the pressure of the clock extends to the Red Bull Advanced Technologies RB17, which will run in public for the first time. Adrian Newey, who designed the hypercar before leaving for Aston Martin, will share the climbs with Isack Hadjar, Yuki Tsunoda and Alisha Palmowski, all three Oracle Red Bull Racing drivers.

The Italian celebration will have two main attractions. Ferrari will mark its 75 years in Formula 1 with the Forza Ferrari display, ranging from the 156 Sharknose of 1961 to the SF21 of 2021 to be driven by Marc Gené, and including the F2000, the F2007 and the F2008. The Maranello marque will complete its presence with the F80, the Amalfi and the 499P Modificata, along with three dynamic debuts. Ducati will celebrate its centenary with 31 motorcycles ranging from Carl Fogarty's 916 to Casey Stoner and Álvaro Bautista's Desmosedici, with Scott Redding and Nicolò Bulega's Panigale V4s as the contemporary finale.

Added to that list are Formula E with the GEN4 car driven by Dan Ticktum, Alpine with the A390 GT, Cupra with the Raval, and Honda with the Prelude HRC Concept. BMW will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the M3 with the M3 Touring 24H and the M2 Track Kit; Mercedes‑Benz will field its Black Series cars from the 2006 SLK 55 AMG to the 2020 AMG GT Black Series; and BYD will occupy its largest space in Goodwood history with the European debuts of Denza and Yangwang. The American Celebration will put three Ford GT40s from 1966 on the hill, the year of Ford's first Le Mans victory, with Dario Franchitti, Tom Kristensen and Karun Chandhok at the wheel. Also appearing will be Romain Dumas's Ford Super Mustang Mach E and Lightning McQueen, celebrating two decades since the release of Cars. On the forest rally stage, cars will range from the Group B monsters like the MG Metro 6R4 and the Peugeot 205 T16 Evo 2 to the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 cars of Elfyn Evans, Takamoto Katsuta and Sébastien Ogier. The off‑road area will bring together the Dakar prototypes with the Dacia Sandrider of Nasser Al‑Attiyah and Sébastien Loeb, the Ford Raptor T1+ of Nani Roma and the JLR Defender with Stéphane Peterhansel, Rokas Baciuška and Sara Price.

Broadcasts will begin on Thursday at 08:55 UK time, and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 08:30. For the Americas, Thursday will start at 01:55 in Mexico City and Central America, 03:55 on the US East Coast and 00:55 on the West Coast; on the other days, times will shift to 01:30, 03:30 and 00:30 respectively. Activity will continue into the mid‑afternoon in all time zones. Thursday will focus on manufacturer presentations, Friday will add more exhibitions; Saturday will bring Timed Shoot Out practice; and on Sunday, when a few will compete for the title of King of the Hill, the festival will experience its most demanding moment.
